Aktivitäten in Weinheim

Weinheim is situated in the southwest of Germany, in the northeast of Mannheim (10 kilometers), and in the north of Heidelberg (15 kilometers). The city is also known as Weinheim an der Bergstraße because it´s located on the theme road Bergstraße, an old trade route. The picturesque mountains of the Odenwald lie just next to Weinheim.

The region around Bergstraße is famous for its mild climate and therefore a great place for wine growing. In the east of the city, you can see two fortresses: the Windeck Castle and the Wachenburg Castle. Those two fortresses actually also give Weinheim the name of "Zwei-Burgen-Stadt" ("town of two castles").

When you visit Weinheim you definitely will enjoy a walk through its picturesque Old Town. Discover historic places such as the old city hall or the market square. Go for a nice hike in the surroundings and don´t forget to stop in one of the vineyards and taste the local wine!
