Russian Orthodox Cathedral Nice

Deep green and bright yellow domes of the Russian Orthodox Cathedral treat visitors to a slice of Russia in the Côte d'Azur. Although it’s a lesser-known gem in Nice, it’s the largest Eastern Orthodox Cathedral in Western Europe – so it’s pretty important and well worth adding to your itinerary. If you’re wondering why it’s here, that’s because since the mid-19th century, wealthy Russians have been swapping their snowboots for sunglasses to get some winter sun in Nice.
