Aktivitäten in Andalsnes

Åndalsnes is a young city located on the shores of the Romsdalsfjord and is known as the natural gateway to the Romsdal Alps. It is surrounded by mountains with peaks that go up to 1800 meters above sea level, some of the largest and most impressive in Norway.

Some of the nearby attractions include the Troll Wall which is Europe’s tallest vertical rock face, the Troll Road with its eleven hairpin bends, as well as the Stigfossen waterfall. It is also in this city that you can join the fascinating railway Raumabanen. This is the railway connection between Åndalsnes and Dombås and the train ride is one of the most scenic in Europe.

During World War 2, the city of Åndalsnes was almost entirely destroyed due to numerous battles and bombings. Everything has been rebuilt since, including the railway, and today it is a beloved destination of both Norwegians and tourists from around the world.
